UKCA Marking
UKAS-accredited UKCA certification from a UK Approved Body - enabling confident market access for fire protection products.
The UKCA (UK Conformity Assessed) mark is the post-Brexit replacement for CE marking in Great Britain. It confirms that a product meets minimum technical requirements and can be legally placed on the GB market.
NOTE: In October 2024, the UK Government indefinitely extended recognition of CE marking for construction products, allowing manufacturers to continue using CE alongside UKCA.

FAQs
What is the UKCA Mark?
The UKCA (UK Conformity Assessed) marking is a new UK product marking that is used for goods being placed on the market in Great Britain (England, Wales and Scotland). It covers most goods which previously required the CE marking, known as ‘new approach’ goods.
The UKCA marking came into effect on 1 January 2021.
More info about UKCA can be found on the UK Gov website:

What is a CE Mark?
CE Mark denotes compliance with minimum performance requirements enabling a product to be placed on the European market. The CE Mark is not a ‘Quality Mark’ and should not be confused with ‘Third Party Product Certification’. This is also offered separately by IFCC under its ‘Product Certification’ service.

Is IFCC a UK Approved Body for UKCA marking?
Yes. IFC Certification Ltd is Approved Body No. 1720 under the Construction Products Regulation
Is UKCA marking mandatory for all fire safety products?
UKCA marking is required for products covered under the UK Construction Products Regulation when placed on the GB market. Not all fire safety products fall under this scope — we can help you determine if your product qualifies.
Is UKCA marking recognised outside the UK?
UKCA is specific to Great Britain. For international markets, CE marking or other regional certifications may be required. We can advise on multi-market strategies and help you navigate overlapping requirements.
What documentation do I need to prepare for UKCA certification?
You’ll need a technical file including product specifications, test reports, risk assessments, and evidence of Factory Production Control (FPC). Our team will guide you through compiling and reviewing these documents.
What types of fire safety products can be UKCA marked?
Fire doors, glass, ducts, dampers, smoke control systems, steel protection products, and more
